A taste of the music in store during the daytime festival
We are delighted to have confirmed the line up to keep our toes tapping during the free daytime food festival. These guys and girls are all great live and we’re dead chuffed they’re coming to Porkstock 2016!
Steve:혻Better known under his alias ‘Slightly offensive Steve’ this locally notorious musician has performed at festivals such as Glastonbury, Boomtown and Sunrise.
He’s promised to leave his tongue in cheek potty mouth at home, and instead indulge us in a one-off set of Folk/Blues classics to begin what is guaranteed to be a fantastic day.
The Dave Barwood band:혻Dave Barwood is a locally renowned musician, his timeless range of Folk Originals and covers effortlessly project sincerity and raw emotion. Having performed solo for many years, Dave has recently found a small band of musical deviants to add a whole new dynamic to what he does. So, for your listening pleasure, and their first official gig… May we present…. The Dave Barwood band.
The Fill Station:혻Imagine if you will a crackling radio in a 1950s filling station, somewhere on a deserted roadside in the dead of night. The neon signs illuminating the US wilderness as the music is faintly heard from a distance through an open window. That is the image that the fill station tries to create with their music; covering some well-known and some not-so-well-known hot jazz, blues, swing and country songs from the likes of Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Ella Fitzgerald and The Ink Spots. So pull your Cadillac into the forecourt, walk past the rusty, windswept petrol pumps and enter the fill station…
Two-bit Operators:혻Developed via a natural formation process, combining friends & family and bound by a mutual love of quality songwriting and musicianship. Kris, Lee and Sister Emma hail from Norfolk and blend their own brand of Folk, Country & Americana to bring you stories of loves, lies and losers all in one spirited, subtle and simple form.
The Georgia Shackleton Trio:혻The well-loved Georgia Shackleton Trio combine vocals, fiddle, guitar, mandolin and banjo to play a blend of Americana, folk and self-penned material. Accompanying herself on fiddle, Georgia performs ?쁶ordy songs about other people?? She takes inspiration from places and faces, as well as the traditional, regional and early 20th century material she also performs.
After studying the highly acclaimed folk and traditional music degree in Newcastle, Georgia has performed in various line ups with an eclectic mix of fantastic musicians. This trio sees her playing alongside Aaren Bennett and Nic Zuppardi on the guitar and mandolin, both seasoned instrumentalists who have played across Europe.
The Avi80rs:혻The Avi80rs are a three piece, semi acoustic 1980s party song band that play only the hits, movie tunes and classic songs from that decade. With our own take on New Romantic, Pop, Rock and Disco there?셲 bound to be a dance floor filler favourite you?셪l love. So join the Avi80rs and party like it?셲 1989.
